PROTECT
DUFFERIN

This isn’t just a transit route — it’s our home.

The City is fast tracking permanent changes to Dufferin Street: cutting traffic to a single lane in each direction, removing all parking, and adding 24/7 bus-only lanes. These changes are being pushed forward with no plan to support the thousands of families, seniors and residents who rely on curb lane access for everyday life. We support better transit, but not at the cost of basic access and livability on our residential street.

Vehicles pushed to already crowded side streets.

Home - not a highway

Dufferin is where people live. It's a residential street - not just a shortcut for buses.

Rush hour is not all day

Rush hour rules on Dufferin strike a fair balance. Permanent bus lanes don't.

Dufferin isn't Scarborough

The City points to the bus lanes on Eglinton East - a massive suburban arterial road. Dufferin is a dense residential street only half as wide. One-size-fits-all planning doesn't work.

You can read the City's plan here: RapidTO Dufferin.

Who we are

Protect Dufferin is a group of concerned residents who believe in better transit and better neighborhoods. We are asking the City to pause its plans and work with the community on solutions that protect the livability of our street.
